Anytime Anyplace is the first film Seka made after her split with Ken. Her image and hairstyle in this movie was different from past features and reflected the influence of her new manager (her former make-up artist). His plan was to transform her into the world’s sleekest, most chic porn star. “He taught me a lot about fashion, make-up, how to carry myself. Outwardly I learnt a lot.”
The movie was also the first to be shot by Kirdy Stevens (real name Dave Arthur) and his wife Helene Terrie after their massive success with Taboo (1980). Stevens knew how to shoot a film, and this is one of the best porn films Seka ever appeared in.
Kirdy Stevens was one of the original pioneers of the West Coast porn industry. Although he only shot 14 movies in 25 years, they include some of the best made adult movies of the early 1980s.
During the 1960s he ran several stores in downtown Los Angeles known as "arcades," that showed "girlie movies" - nudity but no hardcore. After being raided by the police he switched to mail order, but was targeted by the vice squad again and quit the business.
In 1970 he began shooting R-rated exploitation movies for drive-ins. According to his wife Helene:

The first quality film he made was The Sensuous Detective (1979) starring Jessie St James, Serena, Dorothy Le May and Laurien Dominique. It was also one of the earliest adult movies to have received, in a censored version, mainstream theatre play.
The following year he made the landmark porn film Taboo, starring Kay Parker, a mother that ends up having sex with her own son, played by Mike Ranger. Although he never reached this peak again, Anytime Anyplace (1981), Taboo 2 (1982) and Playing With Fire (1983) are all classic porn films.
